Aaron & Hur Pastors and Leaders Cohort

The Aaron & Hur Pastors and Leaders Cohort (The Cohort) is a one year program that has proven to be a space where leaders are affirmed, equipped, and assisted to live out the call God has put on their lives. We are committed to sharing our learned and inherited methods of doing ministry as well as connecting participants to networks of churches, ministries, and organizations to further expand their work and to expose them to resources for the work of God.

2026 Aaron & Hur Pastors and Leaders Cohort Kick-Off

The 2026 Aaron & Hur Pastors and Leaders Cohort began with a powerful and deeply meaningful gathering of Black women pastors and ministry leaders, creating a unique space for connection, affirmation, vulnerability, and spiritual encouragement.

Our kickoff speaker, Jane R. Berry, brought decades of wisdom and lived experience in ministry to the gathering. Jane has been involved in ministry since the late 1960s, serving as a missionary, church planter, pastor’s wife, working mom, speaker, and mentor. Her ministry experience spans the United States, Canada, Africa, and the Caribbean, with a particular commitment to investing in her family and in women serving in ministry.

Dr. Jane R. Berry

Throughout her years of service, Jane has helped develop campus ministries, community Bible studies, and churches, while also serving in national leadership roles focused on African American ministry, women in ministry, organizational culture, diversity, and inclusion. She has served on boards, think tanks, and commissions and has taught Bible studies and workshops, including designing and teaching a course for pastors’ wives.

Drawing from her own seasons of both joy and brokenness, Jane also shared from a place of compassion and authenticity about walking with individuals and families through difficult seasons. Her commitment to helping families navigate trauma and move toward a positive, forward, and forgiving outlook reflects the depth of both her ministry and her personal journey.

The kickoff was more than the beginning of another cohort year. It was a powerful and vulnerable gathering of women who understand the weight, joy, complexity, and calling of ministry. Together, participants began the year by creating space to be seen, heard, encouraged, and equipped not simply as leaders, but as whole women called by God to serve His people.
